PGCET - MCA Karnataka

 Post Graduate Common Entrance Test(PGCET)

        The Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test(PGCET) is being conducted for the  purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka and non-Karnataka  candidates to first year / first semester full time / part time MBA / MCA / M.E. / M. Tech. / M. Arch  courses in Government University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided professional educational  institutions in the state of Karnataka.


MCA - Master of Computer Application

Eligibility Criteria for MCA: 

 

A candidate who has passed any recognized BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science  Engineering or equivalent Degree 

OR  

Passed B.Sc. / B.Com / B.A. with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduation level (with  additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University) and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all  the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.  

NOTE: Rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted. No part time MCA courses are offered for MCA.


Test Marks and Duration:


The PGCET-2022 will be held in one session separately for MCA courses conducted for 100  marks with 150 minutes duration. Each question paper will be of (Objective) Multiple Choice type.  The question paper will be in four different versions. Each question will have four different  options. 60 questions in Part - A carry one mark each. 20 questions in Part - B carry two marks  each. Thus there will be 80 questions and a total mark is 100.
